City recruits teen volunteers for October 31 Senior Tech Lab

The City of Mountain House lists a Senior Tech Lab volunteer opportunity for Saturday, October 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Town Hall. The posting seeks youth ages 14 through 17 to help older adults with technology questions. It presents the activity as a defined four-hour assignment, not a standing invitation to arrive on any date. The page reviewed this morning does not guarantee a place to every interested teen or say that walk-ins will be accepted, so families should use the City's volunteer process and wait for official confirmation before treating the shift as assigned.

The opportunity connects two local needs: supervised civic experience for teenagers and patient, one-to-one help for residents navigating phones, tablets, accounts or common online tasks. Volunteers should be prepared to explain steps without taking control of another person's identity, passwords, payment information or private messages. Older adults should enter credentials themselves and decline any request that seems unrelated to the task. A public help session is useful for learning basic settings and navigation, but it is not a secure substitute for a bank, health provider, government agency or professional repair service.

For students, the next practical step is to review the City's requirements with a parent or guardian, register through the official page and ask how attendance or service hours will be documented. Confirm check-in instructions, supervision and what devices participants may bring. The City page also lists other volunteer channels, but this story is limited to the dated Senior Tech Lab opportunity. The photograph shows an unrelated volunteer assisting an older adult with a tablet; it does not portray the Mountain House event, its volunteers, participants or equipment.

How this was reported: Mountain House Live opened the linked City of Mountain House volunteer page on October 11, 2026 and recorded the event, publication and retrieval dates separately. Factual statements are limited to details displayed by that source. If the page showed no publication date, the source line says so instead of assigning one. A calendar entry establishes a planned time and place, not attendance, capacity, completion, quality, accessibility or a guaranteed future outcome. A service page describes the publisher's current rules but may change after retrieval. A company announcement establishes what that company said and does not independently prove every performance or safety claim. No interview, phone call, on-site attendance, independent measurement or completed outcome is implied. The licensed photograph is context and not evidence that its people, place or equipment are connected to this story. Readers should reopen the direct source for cancellations, revised instructions or late changes. No paid AI, translation, speech, advertising or other metered provider was called for this edition.

What comes next: use the named agency's official registration, calendar, contact, account, agenda or status path for individual questions and confirm the latest time, location, eligibility, fee, capacity, accessibility and documentation requirements before acting. Keep official confirmation numbers and never send passwords, payment-card data, student records, medical details or identity documents to Mountain House Live. Public availability is not permission to reuse another person's article, photograph, recording or personal story. The analysis here explains practical local implications but does not replace the authority of the City, school district, library, college, utility or company that published the source. Once an event passes, this article remains dated archive material unless the publisher supplies a material, dated update. Corrections preserve the original source date and identify the correction date, so an old notice is never presented as new. Repetition inside seven days is limited to the daily AI brief or a documented material follow-up; none of today's main-topic keys duplicates the prior seven editions.
